In seiner ursprünglichen Fassung aus dem Jahr 1990 ist die Komposition Annabal Lee ein Werk für Bariton solo und Kammerorchester. In der reduzierten Form, für 10-saitige Gitarre und Sprecher, entstand 2018 eine neue und intimere musikalische Auslegung des berühmten Gedichtes.
Edgar Allan Poe veröffentlichte den Text erstmals am 9. Oktober 1849 in der New York Tribune.

In its original version from 1990, the composition Annabal Lee is a work for baritone solo and chamber orchestra. In the reduced form, for 10-string guitar and speaker, a new and more intimate musical interpretation of the famous poem was created in 2018.
Edgar Allan Poe first published the text on October 9, 1849 in the New York Tribune.
