Die edition-gerung wurde im Jahre 2000 von dem Komponisten Hans-Jürgen Gerung in dem Bestreben gegründet, neue Kammermusik sowie moderne Grafik & Malerei, Literatur und/oder Video-Art dergestalt miteinander zu  verflechten, dass etwas untrennbar Neues entsteht. Zahlreiche Kompositionen sind beispielsweise durch aufwendige Grafiken ergänzt deren Projektion während der Performance die Wahrnehmung durch den Rezipienten entscheidend beeinflussen - die Bilder selbst werden wiederum durch die Musik in ihrer eigenen visuellen Aussagekraft stark manipuliert.

Zahlreiche Werke für Laute & Gitarre in verschiedensten Besetzungen, sowie sorgfältig mit Quellen oder Urtextausgaben versehene Bearbeitungen erweitern den Kanon - hervorgehoben sei hier die illustrierte Gesamtausgabe der Lautenwerke von Johann Sebastian Bach, eingerichtet für 10-saitige Gitarre aus dem Jahr 2006.

Neben einem Label mit ausgesuchter Neuer Musik für Gitarre und Laute geben ständig aktualisierte Galerien mit Fotos von Exponaten u.a. aus Malerei und Grafik sowie Audio- und Videofragmente weiteren Einblick in das aktuelle Schaffen.

The edition-gerung was founded in 2000 by the composer Hans-Jürgen Gerung in an effort to interweave new chamber music as well as modern graphics & painting, literature and / or video art in such a way that something inseparable is created. Numerous compositions are supplemented, for example, by elaborate graphics whose projection during the performance decisively influences the perception by the recipient - the images themselves are in turn heavily manipulated by the music in its own visual expressiveness.

Numerous works for lute & guitar in various instrumentation, as well as arrangements carefully edited with sources or Urtext editions expand the canon - the illustrated complete edition of the lute works by Johann Sebastian Bach, arranged for 10-string guitar from 2006, should be emphasized here.

In addition to a label with selected new music for guitar and lute, there are constantly updated galleries with photos of exhibits, among others. from painting and graphics as well as audio and video fragments further insight into current work.

Das Label Gerung-Arts&Music wurde 2018 vom Komponisten Hans-Jürgen Gerung gegründet. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der zeitgenössischen Kammermusik, aber auch neue Bearbeitungen von Gitarren- und Lautenwerken aus Renaissance und Barock werden angeboten.

Kunst, entstanden egal zu welcher Zeit, muss, um Verständnis zu wecken, in hohem Maße zeitgenössisch sein – nicht gezwungen zeitlos allein, denn dies ist sie wohl nie. Das Allgemeingültige im Werk aber muss offenbar gemacht und das Zeitgebundene durch intelligenten Transfer in Beziehung zum Heute gesetzt werden … Arbeit also zu gleichen Teilen - für Anbieter und/oder Produzenten und für entgegennehmende Zeitgenossen.

The label Gerung-Arts&Music was founded in 2018 by the composer Hans-Jürgen Gerung. The focus is on contemporary chamber music, but also new arrangements of guitar- and lutemusic from Renaissance and Baroque are offered.

Arts, no matter at what time, has to be highly contemporary in order to be understandable - not necessarily timeless, because this is probably never the case. The universally valid in the work, however, must be made obvious and the historical context by intelligent transfer in relation to today be set. This means work in equal parts - for suppliers and / or producers and for the receiving contemporaries. The label Gerung-Arts&Music faces up to this challenge.
