Das Werk Aus der Matrize – Schönberg Variationen, fußt auf der Reihe des Schönberg‘schen Opernfragments Moses und Aron aus dem Jahr 1932. Suilamo variiert diese Keimzelle durch Matrix-Technik und entwickelt eine 7-sätzige Komposition, die in eine faszinierende Klanglandschaft entführt, wie sie in ihrer zarten Vielschichtigkeit so nur die Gitarre mit sehr feinem Pinsel zu zeichnen vermag.  Obwohl jede der sieben Miniaturen für sich allein sofort einen spannenden und autarken Kosmos eröffnet, sind doch alle Teile durch ein geheimnisvolles Webmuster miteinander verbunden. Seien es rhythmisch wiederkehrende Fragmente, seien es  melodische Partikel oder seien es klare Klangfarben-Bezüge, alles steht in zwingender Logik zueinander. Suilamos Variationen aus der Matrize sind mehr als eine Rückschau auf die zweite Wiener Schule. Die Arbeiten Suilamos sind, sowohl in ihrer Dichte als auch in ihrem Klangfarbenreichtum ein direktes Ergebnis konsequenter Weiterentwicklung einer musikalischen Ästhetik, wie sie Anton Webern in seinen sechs Bagatellen für Streichquartett aus dem Jahr 1911 schon aufgezeigt hat. Die Bereitschaft sich diesen zartesten Klangwelten vollkommen hinzugeben ist absolute Voraussetzung für die Annäherung an das Werk Suilamos – sowohl für den Interpreten, als auch durch den Zuhörer.

Die Komposition K.A.L.T. von Helmut Oehring ist eine Arbeit, die die Möglichkeiten der Gitarre vollkommen kompromisslos und bis an die Grenzen ausschöpft. Der Spieler ist hier nicht ‚nur Interpret‘ sondern Akteur im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Die dichte und komplexe Partitur verlangt den spielenden, den sprechenden, den singenden und den (auf)stampfen Menschen … und sie verlangt ihn ständig, und in seiner ganzen geistigen und physischen Präsenz. Basierend auf zwei eigenen Gedichten entwickelt Oehring eine Musik, die mit Hilfe allerzärtlichsten Klangverflechtungen bis hin zu tosenden, und  orgiastisch hinausgeschleuderten Gitarrenriffs, alle Orte der menschlichen Befindlichkeiten nachzeichnet. K.A.L.T. betritt ihn, den nichtOrt der menschlichen Seele – K.A.L.T macht dessen absolute Stille hörbar.

Die Partitur K.A.L.T wurde 2016/17 im Projekt KALTland von Helmut Oehring und Hans-Jürgen Gerung gemeinsam, mit Hilfe von Fotos, Partitur-Fragmenten, Videoclips  und zahlreichen Grafiken visualisiert. – KALTland, eiskaltes Land, bewegungslos unter Eis und Licht – still und surreal. MOORland, WASSERland, TIERland … MENSCHENland?

The work ‘Aus der Matrize’ (out from the matrix) - Schöberg Variationen, is based on the series of Schönberg's opera fragments ‘Moses and Aron’ from 1932. Suilamo varies this germ cell through matrix technique and develops a 7-movement composition which puts the listener into a fascinating soundscape. A soundscape, as in its delicate complexity only the guitar is able to draw with a very fine brush. Although each of the seven miniatures opens up an exciting and self-sufficient cosmos on its own, all parts are connected also by a mysterious weaving pattern. Be it rhythmically recurring fragments, be it melodic particles or clear tonal references, everything is bound together in compelling logic. Suilamo's variations from the matrix are more than a retrospective on to the Second Viennese School. The works of Suilamo, both in their density and richness of timbres, are a direct result of the consistent development of musical aesthetics, as demonstrated by Anton Webern in his Six Bagatelles for String Quartet from 1911. The willingness to fully indulge in these most tender sound-worlds is an absolute prerequisite for the approach to Suilamo's work - both for the performer and the listener.

The composition ‘K.A.L.T.’ (C.O.L.D.) by Helmut Oehring is a work that exhaustively exploits the possibilities of the guitar without compromise. The player here is not just an interpreter, but an actor in the truest sense of the word. The dense and complex score demands the acting, the speaking, the singing and the (stomping) human ... and it demands him constantly, and in all its mental and physical presence. Based on two of his own poems, Oehring develops a music that, tracing all locations of human sensitivities, with the help of the most delicate sound connections, thunderous and orgiastic thrown-out- guitar riffs. C.O.L.D. enters it, the nonLocus of the human soul - C.O.L.D. makes its absolute silence audible.

The score C.O.L.D. was visualized in a co-production by Helmut Oehring and Hans-Jürgen Gerung in the project ‘KALTland’ (COLDland) in 2016/17, with the help of photos, score fragments, video clips and numerous graphics. - COLDland, cold and frozen country, motionless under ice and light - quiet and surreal. MOORland, WATERland, ANIMALland ... HUMANland?
