Der neue Katalog 2023 listet, neben zahlreichen weltlichen Arbeiten unterschiedlichster Besetzung, auch ein umfangreiches Œuvre vokaler Werke religiösen Hintergrundes – genannt sei RITUS, Missa da Requiem für die Opfer der Terroranschläge von New York und Washington, entstanden in den Jahren 2001-2003 im Auftrag des Münsters Konstanz. Daneben sorgfältig mit Quellen versehene Bearbeitungen (vgl. Gesamtausgabe der Lautenwerke von Johann Sebastian Bach), Bildnerisches und CD – Einspielungen.

In addition to numerous secular works of various castes, the new 2024 catalog also lists a comprehensive oeuvre of vocal works of religious background – noteworthy here:  RITUS, Missa da Requiem for the victims of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, created in 2001-2003 on behalf of the Cathedral of Constance. In addition there are carefully edited sources (see complete edition of lute works by Johann Sebastian Bach), visual art, videos and CD recordings.

Johann Sebastian Bach - aufs Lautenwerck

Über die Lautenwerke Bachs wurde viel geschrieben. Die vorliegende Ausgabe dient ausschließlich dem praktischen Gebrauch und setzt die Kenntnis der einschlägigen Standardliteratur voraus. Da den Arrangements ein umfangreicher Quellenband zur Seite steht wurde auf einen kritischen Bericht verzichtet. Im Falle von BWV 995 (Autograph), BWV 996 (Gerber Hs.), BWV 998 (Autograph) und BWV 1006a wurden Urtextausgaben erstellt, da die Besitzer einem Abdruck der Handschriften im Quellenband nicht zustimmten.

Die Einrichtung erfolgte für 10-saitige Gitarre (bzw. für liuto forte in e). Die Stimmung G. F, C, D, E, A, d, g, h, e‘  bleibt im Wesentlichen unverändert; lediglich BWV 996 und BWV 1006a verlangen ein Umstimmen der 9. Saite F  nach Fis. BWV 1006a fordert außerdem eine nach Cis gestimmte 8. Saite und BWV 1000 rechnet mit einer 8. Saite H statt C!

Das heutige Saitenmaterial stabilisiert die angesprochenen Umstimmungen sehr schnell; die konzertante Aufführung aller Werke ist somit gewährleistet.

Johann Sebastan Bach - aufs Lautenwerck

Much has been written about Bach's lute works. This complete edition is intended for practical use only and requires the knowledge of the relevant standard literature. As the arrangements are accompanied by an extensive source band, a critical report has been omitted. In the case of BWV 995 (Autograph), BWV 996 (Gerber Hs.), BWV 998 (Autograph) and BWV 1006a Urtext editions were created because the owners did not agree to an imprint of the manuscripts in the source volume.

The arrangements are for 10-string guitar (or for liuto forte in e). The tuning G, F, C, D, E, A, d, g, h, e 'remains essentially unchanged; only BWV 996 and BWV 1006a require a scordatur of the 9th string F to F#. BWV 1006a also calls for an 8th string, tuned to C#, and BWV 1000 anticipates an 8th string B instead of C!

Today's string material stabilizes the mentioned adjustments very fast, so that the performance of all works during one concert should be guaranteed.
